- دير المتعة (بالإنجليزية: The Convent of Pleasure) هي مسرحية كوميدية إنجليزية من الأدب الإنجليزي الحديث المبكر، كتبتها مارغريت كافنديش. تدور المسرحية حول مجموعة من النساء غير المتزوجات اللاتي يختارن تجنب آلام الرجال والزواج من خلال إنشاء مجتمعهم الخاص. الشخصيات الرئيسية في المسرحية هم: سيدة سعيدة، والسادة الذين يرغبون في إزالة سيدة سعيدة من الدير، والأميرة التي تنضم إلى دير السيدة سعيدة وتشجعها. نُشرت المسرحية في لندن تحت اسمها (كافنديش)، وهو شيء نادر لكاتبة في ذلك الوقت، لم يستطيع النساء حينها نشر عمل كهذا تحت اسمهم. نظرًا لأن المسرحية عبارة عن مسرح ذهني، لم تحاول كافنديش عرضها. مشهدان في المسرحية أُعِدا لزوجها، كما يدل على ذلك عبارة «كتبت بواسطة اللورد ديوك» فوق هذه المشاهد. - The Convent of Pleasure is a comedic play first published by Margaret Cavendish in 1668. It tells the story of Lady Happy, a noblewoman who chooses to reject marriage in favor of creating a community - the titular “convent” - in which she and other women of noble birth can live free from the constraints of patriarchy. Like much of Cavendish's fiction, it explores utopian ideals and questions the expected roles of women in 17th-century English society. The play was published under Cavendish's name, which was unusual for a work written by a woman at the time. Cavendish never attempted to have it staged, and instead devised it as something more akin to a closet drama. (en)
