- The Concerts in China was a concert tour by Jean Michel Jarre in 1981. It marked the opening of post-Mao Zedong China to live Western music. Five concerts were held in the two biggest cities on October 21 and 22 in Beijing, and on October 26, 27 and 29 in Shanghai. The five concerts were filmed and recorded for later commercial releases. The concert was the first time Jarre had performed his music with other musicians with him on stage and featured the first use of a laser harp. The concerts featured all tracks from his latest album Magnetic Fields (en)
- The Concerts in China è stato un tour del musicista francese Jean-Michel Jarre, svoltosi interamente in Cina nel 1981, con due date a Pechino (21 e 22 novembre) e tre a Shanghai (26-27-28). Jarre fu, con questo tour, il primo musicista di origini occidentali a suonare nella Cina post-comunista, dopo il regime di Mao Tse Tung. In totale, assistettero alle esibizioni circa 120.000 persone. I concerti vennero registrati e commercializzati sul mercato. A causa della bassa qualità sonora delle registrazioni, queste vennero ri-masterizzate e riunite nel doppio album The Concerts in China.
