- Wovon wir träumten (Originaltitel: The Buddha in the Attic) ist ein erstmals 2011 erschienener Roman der US-amerikanischen Autorin Julie Otsuka über in Japan geborene Frauen und Mädchen, die in den 1920er Jahren in die USA auswandern, um dort japanische Einwanderer zu heiraten. Er schildert ihre Lebenserfahrungen in der neuen Heimat, bis rund ein Vierteljahrhundert später der japanische Angriff auf Pearl Harbor zur Internierung japanischstämmiger Amerikaner führte. Der von ins Deutsche übersetzte und 2012 vom Mare Verlag veröffentlichte Roman wurde von der Literaturkritik positiv aufgenommen. 2011 war er für einen National Book Award nominiert, im selben Jahr wurde er mit dem Langum Prize for American Historical Fiction ausgezeichnet und erhielt 2012 den PEN/Faulkner Award sowie den Prix Femina Étranger.
