- El kayak surf es un deporte que surge de un interesante cruce entre los mundos del kayak y del surf. Consiste en utilizar la fuerza propulsora de las olas del mar para deslizarse sobre ellas con la ayuda de un kayak y una pala. El kayakista podrá realizar maniobras y piruetas con su kayak, como si de una tabla de surf se tratase, aplicando técnicas propias tanto del mundo del kayak como del mundo del surf.El kayak surf cada vez tiene más aceptación en nuestras playas, viendo como los surfistas son acompañados por cada vez mayor número de kayakistas ansiosos por disfrutar sobre las olas del mar. Le kayak-surf est un type de kayak fermé, dont la carène se rapproche de la forme d'une planche de surf. Il est muni d'ailerons afin d'augmenter l'accroche sur la face de la vague. Il surf kayaking ha molte somiglianze con il surf tradizionale, ma il surf kayak è progettato per essere utilizzato nelle zone di surf e prevede anche l'utilizzo di una pagaia. Ad oggi vengono utilizzati molti tipi di kayak, ma tutti quanti hanno l'obiettivo di sfruttare al meglio le onde per spingere l'imbarcazione stessa. Il surf kayaking è popolare in molte zone frequentate dai surfisti.
