- Domstreben oder auch Federbeinbrücken dienen im Autobau der Versteifung einer Karosserie.Oft werden Domstreben nachträglich eingebaut, um die Torsionsfestigkeit der Karosserie zu erhöhen. Dies kann nötig werden, wenn Änderungen am Fahrwerk (z. B. der Einsatz härterer Federn) die Belastung der Karosserie erhöhen.Seltener ist der Einsatz von Domstreben ab Werk. Diese können bei Fahrzeugen ohne festen Dachaufbau (Cabrio oder Roadster)jedoch bisweilen gewählt werden. Die Strebe verbindet die beiden vorderen oder hinteren Federbeindome und verhindert somit, dass sich die Lage der Dome zueinander und damit die Geometrie des Fahrwerkes verändert. Verzugserscheinungen der Spur werden vermindert – das Fahrverhalten, insbesondere bei Kurvenfahrt, wird besser und direkter. Domstreben sind in Deutschland und mittlerweile auch in Österreich eintragungsfrei. Domstreben werden auch in einigen seltenen Fällen ab Werk verbaut. - Una barra antitorsión o barra de torretas (Strut Tower Brace, STB, en inglés) es un elemento de automoción accesorio a la suspensión, normalmente utilizado en conjunto con suspensión MacPherson en chasis monocasco para proporcionar mayor rigidez adicional entre torretas. La principal función de la barra es reducir la torsión, ligando las dos torretas. De esta forma se transmite la carga individual de cada torreta a ambas, dividiendo esfuerzos y reduciendo la torsión del chasis. Para que esto se cumpla con eficacia (especialmente en suspensiones MacPherson), la barra debe ser rígida. Muchos fabricantes han producido barras para sus modelos de más alto rendimiento, equipada de forma estándar u opcional. En otros casos muchos propietarios de vehículos, sobre todo en el mundo de la preparación de automóviles, deciden aplicar a sus coches una barra antitorsión. - A strut bar, strut brace, or strut tower brace (STB) is an automotive suspension accessory on a monocoque or unibody chassis to provide extra stiffness between the strut towers. With a MacPherson strut suspension system where the spring and shock absorber are combined in the one suspension unit which also replaces the upper control arm, the entire vertical suspension load is transmitted to the top of the vehicle's strut tower, unlike a double wishbone suspension where the spring and shock absorber may share the load separately. In general terms, a strut tower in a monocoque chassis is a reinforced portion of the inner wheel well and is not necessarily directly connected to the main chassis rails. For this reason there is inherent flex within the strut towers relative to the chassis rails. A strut bar is designed to reduce this strut tower flex by tying the two strut towers together. This transmits the load off each strut tower during cornering which ties the two towers together and reduces chassis flex. To accomplish this effectively (especially on MacPherson strut suspensions), the bar must be rigid throughout its length. Many manufacturers have fitted strut braces to performance models as standard or optional equipment.
