- شيرين فرامروز داراشا (بالإنجليزية: Shirin Framroze Darasha) ولدت في 27 ديسمبر 1938 - وتوفيت في 2 مايو 2012. ترأس JB Petit High School كمديرة للمدرسة لأكثر من ثلاثة عقود، من 1973 - 2006. وهي معلمة هندية مشهورة وكاتبة مسرحية ونسوية تحدت العديد من الصور النمطية والتقاليد في المجتمع الهندي. كانت لديها آراء قوية حول أهمية «الفرح» أثناء الطفولة. لم تكن تحبذ عبء العمل المفرط والواجب المنزلي الذي استمر في السيطرة على المشهد التعليمي الهندي. اعترضت على الرأي السائد بأن الفتيات في وضع غير مؤاتٍ للتعاطي مع الرياضيات والعلوم. أكدت داراشا أنه في بيئة مراعية لتطلعات الفتيات، سوف تزدهر فيها الفتيات وينجحن. وكان استخدامها الإبداعي للدراما في التعليم امتدادًا لاهتمامها الدائم في فن المسرح - كمؤلفة مسرحية ومنتجة ومخرجة. على مر السنين، حرصت داراشا على أن تكون شخصية متميزة وحيوية في مجال تعليم الإناث في الهند. ناضلت من أجل قضية كانت تؤمن بها، وهي أن «البشرة الداكنة» لها خصائصها الجمالية والمتميزة عن غيرها في المجتمع الهندي. ومن ضمن الشخصيات التي زارتها داراشا خلال مسيرة عملها كمديرة للمدرسة المعلم الروحي الدالاي لاما. - Shirin Framroze Darasha (27 December 1938 – 2 May 2012) headed the J.B. Petit High School For Girls as the School Principal for over three decades, from 1973 – 2007. A renowned Indian educator, playwright and feminist, she challenged many stereotypes and traditions in Indian society. She had strong views on the importance of "joy" during childhood. She was not in favour of the excessive work-load and homework fetish that continued to dominate the Indian educational scene. She took issue with the prevalent view that girls were at a disadvantage apropos of mathematics and sciences. Darasha maintained that in a nurturing environment where they were not set up to fail in comparison with boys, girls would flourish and blossom. Her creative use of drama in education was an extension of her enduring interest in the stage – as playwright, producer and director. Over the years, Darasha established herself as a distinct and passionate figure in the field of female education in India. (en)
