- Shadowfax fue un grupo musical de new age y música electrónica, cuyos éxitos más relevantes fueron los álbumes y . En 1989 ganaron el Grammy a la mejor interpretación de new age por Folksongs for a Nuclear Village. En 1993 fueron candidatos al mismo premio por . El grupo se estableció en 1972 y se disolvió en 1995 cuando el intérprete del y líder de la banda fallece a causa de un infarto. Habiendo perdido su sonido característico, el resto de los integrantes de Shadowfax se dedicaron a otros proyectos musicales. El grupo tomó su nombre del original en inglés de Sombragrís, el caballo del mago Gandalf en la novela de J. R. R. Tolkien El Señor de los Anillos. (es)

In 1989, they won the Grammy for Best New Age Performance for Folksongs for a Nuclear Village. In 1993, they were nominated for the Grammy for Esperanto. The group formed in 1972 and disbanded after 1995 when Lyricon player and leader Chuck Greenberg died of a heart attack. Having lost their signature sound, Shadowfax's members went on to other projects. The group took its name from Gandalf the Grey's horse Shadowfax in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. (en)

Si sono sciolti nel 1995 dopo la morte del leader Chuck Greenberg. (it)
