- Sekai Holland, née en 1942, est une militante et femme politique zimbabwéenne. Elle milite pour les droits des femmes, et pour la démocratie au Zimbabwe, rejoint notamment le principal parti d’oppositionà Robert Mugabe, et est plusieurs fois harcelée par le pouvoir. Lorsque, sous la pression internationale, le leader de ce parti d’opposition, Morgan Tsvangirai, est appelé par Robert Mugabe à devenir Premier ministre en 2009, elle devient co-ministre d'État zimbabwéen chargé de la réconciliation. Mais cette parenthèse politique d’union nationale est de courte durée et s’arrête en 2013. Elle se voit décerner, entre-temps, le Prix Sydney de la paix, en 2012. (fr)
- Sekai Holland is the former Zimbabwean Co-Minister of State for National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration in the Cabinet of President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. Sekai has been involved in a number of human rights issues, from those of the Australian Aborigines, ending the apartheid system in South Africa, the rights of women and democracy in Zimbabwe. Her father, teacher-writer-magazine editor, Masotsha Mike Hove (1914-2012), was elected in 1953 as a special representative to the First Central African Federation parliament. He had the distinction of being the first African allowed to be designated an "employee" under the regulations pertaining to the Rhodesian Guild of Journalists in Southern Rhodesia. (en)
