Schore is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located in the municipality of Kapelle, about 8 km southwest of Goes. The village was first mentioned in 1253 as Dodinus de Scoren, and means "land on water". Schore is a circular church village. Schore was founded after 1150 when a dike was built around Zuid-Beveland. The village was flooded and destroyed in 1248. It was later rebuilt as a small agricultural community. Schore was home to 261 people in 1840. Schore was a separate municipality until 1941, when it was merged with Kapelle.

  • Schore is een dorp in de gemeente Kapelle, in de Nederlandse provincie Zeeland. Het dorp is gelegen op Zuid-Beveland en heeft 485 inwoners (1 januari 2021). Tot 1941 vormde het dorp samen met de nabijgelegen buurtschap Vlake een zelfstandige gemeente Schore, die hierom soms ook Schore en Vlake werd genoemd. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het dorp zwaar gehavend. Zo moest er een geheel nieuwe kerk worden gebouwd en werd ook het gemeentehuis verwoest. Hierdoor werd de tot dan toe zelfstandige gemeente Schore in 1941 opgeheven en bij het naburige Kapelle gevoegd. Iets wat tot op de dag van vandaag zo is gebleven. Voor overige voorzieningen zoals de supermarkt en de huisarts is het dorp vooral aangewezen op het vlakbij gelegen Hansweert. (nl)
