- Sarah Ann Glover (Norwich, 13 de novembre de 1786 – Malvern, 20 d'octubre de 1867) fou una pedagoga musical anglesa coneguda per la seva invenció de la tècnica musical Tònic sol-fa del qual en fou un gran impulsor el seu compatriota John Curwen. - Sarah Ann Glover (* 1785 in Norwich; † 1867 in Malvern), Pfarrerstochter und Direktorin einer Sonntagsschule, machte sich als Musikerzieherin einen Namen. Sie publizierte und praktizierte in ihrem Heimatort Norwich und einigen englischen Grafschaften ab ca. 1830 das Norwich sol-fa, eine einfache Methode der Musikerziehung. Ihr System beruhte auf einer vereinfachten Notation von Tonsilben und Rhythmen. Dieses System löste durch John Curwen, Gründer der Tonic Sol-Fa Association, eine der erfolgreichsten Singbewegungen in Großbritannien aus. Curwen beruft sich ausdrücklich auf Sarah Glover. Seine Leistung liegt vor allem auf dem Gebiet der Didaktik und der Organisation. Die Solmisation als Grundlage der Musikerziehung führte auf Grund seiner mitreißenden Persönlichkeit den englischen Musikunterricht und Chorgesang zu einer ungeahnten Blüte. (de)

- Sarah Anna Glover (13 November 1786 – 20 October 1867) was an English music educator who invented the Norwich sol-fa system. Her Sol-fa system was based on the ancient gamut; but she omitted the constant recital of the alphabetical names of each note and the arbitrary syllable indicating key relationship, and also the recital of two or more such syllables when the same note was common to as many keys (e.g. C, Fa, Ut, meaning that C is the subdominant of G and the tonic of C). The notes were represented by the initials of the seven syllables, C, D, E, F, S, L, T; still in use today as their names. (en)
