Samuel Prowse (August 23, 1835 – January 14, 1902) was a Canadian merchant and politician. Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the son of William Prowse who moved from Devonshire, England, to Prince Edward Island in 1823, Prowse was educated in Charlottetown. In 1856, he married Eliza Willis; he married her sister Louise Willis in 1861 after the Eliza's death. Prowse was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island at the general election in 1867 for 4th Kings. In 1876 he was re-elected for the same seat, and accepted a seat in the Coalition Government on the School Question.
