- Royal Salute is a brand of luxury blended Scotch whisky produced and bottled in Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland by Chivas Brothers Ltd. Launched on 2 June 1953 in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her Coronation, it has since been known as the whisky 'Created for Celebration'. Named after the ceremonial 21-gun salute that is fired from the Tower of London to mark special royal occasions, Royal Salute whiskies are aged for a minimum of 21 years, making it the only Scotch to begin its collection at exclusively 21 years-old. The name Royal Salute was given in the honor of 21 gun salute. RS aka Royal Salute has marked the significant events in the lives of British Monarchy and is unique in having only 21 years of aged whiskies. The exceptionally aged range of casks laid down by Chivas Brothers from Scotland, a blend of whiskies are skillfully married for a blend fit for royalty. (en)
