- Die Lott Trophy, auch Lott IMPACT Trophy, wird jährlich an den besten defensiven Spieler des American Football im College Football des Jahres verliehen. Die Auszeichnung soll sowohl den persönlichen Charakter des Siegers als auch seine sportliche Exzellenz auszeichnen. IMPACT ist dabei eine Abkürzung für: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, and Tenacity d. h. für Integrität, Reife, Leistung, Akademiker, Gemeinschaft und Hartnäckigkeit. Über die Auswahl der Preise stimmen Mitglieder der nationalen Medien, frühere Finalisten und der Vorstand der Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation ab. Die Auszeichnung wurde zu Ehren von Ronnie Lott, einem Verteidiger der sowohl in die College Football Hall of Fame für die University of Southern California spielend als auch in die Pro Football Hall of Fame berufen wurde und zehnfacher Pro Bowler war, verliehen. IMPACT is an acronym for: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, and Tenacity. The award purports to equally recognize the personal character of the winning player as well as his athletic excellence. The award selection is voted on by members of the national media, previous finalists, the board of directors of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation. The award is named in honor of College Football Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back, Ronnie Lott. (en)

En 2004, Michelle Armitage de Los Angeles fut chargée de concevoir le trophée. Armitage est une artiste reconnue et possédant une grande expérience en sculpture, peinture et design. Le trophée (de 13" x 14" x 9" ) est en bronze coulé sur un socle de marbre. Il pèse 50 livres et représente parfaitement l'impact qu'avait Ronnie Lott sur l'équipe adverse.
