- بلمرة فتح الحلقة وفق تعريف الاتحاد الدولي للكيمياء البحتة والتطبيقية (IUPAC) هي عملية بلمرة ينتج فيها مركب حلقي أحادي القسيمة وحدة كيميائية أحادية القسيمة لاحلقية، أو حاوية على عدد أقل من الحلقات بالمقارنة مع أحادي القسيمة الأصلي، بحيث يكون تفاعل البلمرة ممكناً. في حال كام المركب أحادي القسيمة الأصلي ، فإن فتح حلقة واحدة فيه يكون كافياً لتصنيف هذا التفاعل الكيميائي على أنه بلمرة فتح الحلقة.. تعد بلمرة فتح الحلقة شكلاً من أشكال بلمرة النمو التسلسلي، يهاجم فيه طرف البوليمر النشيط كيميائياً المركب الحلقي أحادي القسيمة ليشكل بوليميراً أطول. يمكن أن يكون المركز الفعال النشيط إما جذرياً أو أيونياً. يمكن أن يحدث تفاعل بلمرة فتح الحلقة نتيجة حدوث على الحلقة، بالتالي يكون تغير قيمة المحتوى الحراري (الإنثالبية) سالباً. - Eine Ringöffnende Polymerisation ist eine Kettenpolymerisation, bei der ein cyclisches Monomer durch Bindungsbruch und anschließende Ausbildung einer (zumeist) gleichartigen Bindung zu einer weiteren Einheit zu einem meist linearen Polymer umgesetzt wird. Ein Beispiel für ein nichtlineares Polymer ist die Polymerisation von Aziridin zu Polyethylenimin, das bei direkter Polymerisation ein stark verzweigtes Produkt liefert. Triebkraft erhalten solche Reaktionen zumeist ausschließlich durch die Verminderung der Ringspannung im Monomermolekül, da keine neuen, energetisch günstigeren Bindungen entstehen und der Entropieverlust nicht durch das Abkondensieren eines niedermolekularen Nebenprodukts ausgeglichen werden kann. The reactive center can be radical, anionic or cationic. Some cyclic monomers such as norbornene or cyclooctadiene can be polymerized to high molecular weight polymers by using metal catalysts. ROP is a versatile method for the synthesis of biopolymers. Ring-opening of cyclic monomers is often driven by the relief of bond-angle strain.
