- Der Revolutionary War Cemetery, der auch als Old Salem Burying Ground bekannt ist, ist ein Friedhof an der Archibald Street, gleich an der im Salem, New York in den Vereinigten Staaten. Es ist ein 1,1 Hektar großes Areal mit mehr als eintausend Gräbern, von denen mindestens 100 solche von Veteranen aus dem Amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg sind. Der Friedhof wurde bereits vor dem Unabhängigkeitskrieg begründet, wurde jedoch zur Begräbnisstätte für Opfer dieses Krieges, als etwa einhundert Gefallene nach der Schlacht von Saratoga, die ganz in der Nähe stattfand, hier in einem Massengrab bestattet wurden. Auf diesem Friedhof sind mehr Gefallene des Unabhängigkeitskrieges begraben als auf jedem anderen Friedhof im Washington County, möglicherweise im gesamten Bundesstaat. Der Friedhof litt einige Jahre unter Verwahrlosung, doch seit der Eintragung in das National Register of Historic Places im Jahr 2003 wurde der Niedergang langsam umgekehrt. (de)
- The Revolutionary War Cemetery, also called the Old Salem Burying Ground, is located on Archibald Street, just off state highway NY 22 in the village of Salem, New York, United States. It is a 2.6-acre (1.1 ha) area with over a thousand graves, at least 100 of which are those of Revolutionary War dead or veterans . The cemetery was established prior to the war, but became known as a burial ground for casualties of the conflict when many were buried there, particularly after the nearby Battle of Saratoga, when a hundred bodies were reportedly put in one mass grave. More of the conflict's dead are buried here than in any other graveyard in Washington County, and possibly the state. The cemetery has suffered some neglect over the years, but that has slowly been reversed since it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. (en)
