- Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club, also known as the Galloping Greens, is an Australian rugby union club which competes in the Sydney premier grade rugby union competition. The club was formed in 1882 and since then has won 32 first grade premierships and six Australian club championships. It is one of the traditional powerhouses of the Shute Shield competition, winning 14 titles from 1978 to 1996. Randwick's colours are myrtle green and the club's home ground is Coogee Oval. In the 1980s the club produced many Wallabies, including the Ella brothers. Its history has seen many of Australia's best players represent the club, including the likes of George Gregan and David Campese. In all, 93 Randwick players have pulled on a Wallaby jersey, and nine have had the honour of captaining their country. (en)

C’est l’un des plus célèbres et l’un des plus anciens en dehors des îles Britanniques, fondé en 1882. Le club jouait à l'origine en rouge et blanc, mais à la suite de la demande du club de St George qui évoluait dans les mêmes couleurs, les dirigeants ont accepté de changer pour le vert sapin, qui était la couleur des panneaux indicateurs du réseau de tram qui menait au stade. Vainqueur à 31 reprises du Shute Shield qui récompense le très relevé championnat de Sydney (dont 14 titres entre 1978 et 1996), Randwick a aussi remporté 7 fois le Australian Club Championship qui mettait aux prises les clubs champions de Sydney et de Brisbane, capitale du Queensland. Randwick a fourni un très grand nombre d’internationaux à l’équipe d’Australie, comme les frères Ella, Mark, Gary et Glenn qui apportèrent du sang neuf dans le jeu d’attaque australien, ou encore George Gregan, David Campese et plus récemment Chris Latham. Plus de 90 joueurs de Randwick ont un jour porté la tunique jaune et verte des Wallabies et neuf en ont été le capitaine. Deux sélectionneurs sont également sortis de ce club, Eddie Jones et Bob Dwyer, vainqueur de la Coupe du monde 1991. Leur surnom de Galloping Greens (Les Galopeurs Verts) vient du fait que le club est situé tout près de l'un des plus célèbres hippodromes d'Australie, le Randwick Racecourse. (fr)

Fondato nel 1882, milita in Shute Shield, il campionato dello Stato del Nuovo Galles del Sud, competizione che ha vinto 28 volte; è noto per essere fucina di numerosi giocatori internazionali che hanno vestito la maglia sia dell'Australia, il più noto dei quali è David Campese, che di altre federazioni. Le sue maglie sono di colore verde ed i soprannomi con i quali sono noti i suoi giocatori è Galloping Greens o Wicks; disputa i suoi incontri interni al Coogee Oval, impianto con una capienza di circa 5 000 posti.Il presidente del club è Bob Dwyer, ex giocatore e allenatore del club nonché commissario tecnico dell'Australia Campione del mondo nel 1991.
