- Quint Cecili Metel Nepot (en llatí Quintus Caecilius Q. F. Q. N. Metellus Nepos) va ser un magistrat romà. Era fill de Quint Cecili Metel Baleàric (Quintus Caecilius Q. F. Q. N. Metellus Balearicus). El seu renom, Nepos, es deu probablement al fet que va ser el net més gran de Quint Cecili Metel Macedònic (Quintus Caecilius Q. F. L. N. Metellus Macedonicus). La branca dels Metel era tan nombrosa que es va fer necessari, per poder-los distingir entre ells, que cada membre de la família tingués alguna designació personal. Formava part de la gens Cecília. Va treballar per a aconseguir el retorn de l'exili del seu parent Metel Numídic l'any 99 aC. Va ser cònsol el 98 aC juntament amb Tit Didi. Aber Nepos, anstatt sie gehen zu lassen, ließ sich von seiner Frau scheiden und heiratete Licinia weniger als eine Woche später. Der Vorgang wirkte derart skandalös, dass diese Hochzeit mehrere Erwähnungen in den antiken Quellen erfuhr. Als Konsul erließ er im Jahr 98 v. Chr. zusammen mit seinem Amtskollegen Titus Didius ein Gesetz über die Veröffentlichungsfrist von Gesetzentwürfen sowie das Verbot, mehrere Verordnungen in einem einzigen Gesetz zu beantragen. - Quintus Caecilius Metellus Nepos (c. 135 BC – 55 BC) was a senator and consul. Metellus Nepos was a son of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Balearicus. He served as praetor some time before the year 100 BC and possibly as aedile c. 104 BC. He was elected consul in 98 BC with Titus Didius as his colleague. During his consulship, he brought legislation, the leges Caeciliae-Didiae, which required bills brought before the assemblies to have only one topic and mandated that three market days must elapse between a bill's presentation and a vote thereon. He fought in the Iberian Peninsula against the Celtiberians and the Vaccaei, suffering before these a memorable defeat. Metellus Nepos married Licinia Prima, after she had divorced the Pontifex Maximus Quintus Mucius Scaevola, with whom she had a daughter Mucia Tertia. Licinia and Metellus Nepos had two children:
