- Bei der Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE, auch Post-Occupancy Evaluation) handelt es sich um eine nutzungsorientierte Form der Erfolgsüberprüfung, die im städtebaulichen Bereich seit den 1960er Jahren zum Einsatz kommt, und die insbesondere in den USA und in Kanada häufig angewandt wird. Mit Hilfe einer POE lässt sich feststellen, inwieweit die Bewohner oder sonstigen Nutzer eines Gebäudes oder Gebäudekomplexes dessen architektonisches Design annehmen. Sie kann daher erst nach der Ingebrauchnahme eines Gebäudes durchgeführt werden. Eine deutschsprachige Entsprechung des Begriffs existiert nicht. (de)

Preiser and colleagues define POE as "the process of evaluating buildings in a systematic and rigorous manner after they have been built and occupied for some time". The unique aspect of Post Occupancy Evaluation is that it generates recommendations based on all stakeholder groups' experiences of subject buildings' effects on productivity and wellbeing. (en)
- La valutazione post abitativa (o post occupativa, da Post Occupancy Evaluation, POE) è stata creata negli Stati Uniti d'America ed è in uso dal 1960. Essa può essere definita come “un processo sistematico di valutazione delle prestazioni degli edifici dopo che sono stati costruiti e occupati per un periodo di tempo”. Fino dagli anni '60 la POE ha seguito approcci diversi, sia per metodi che per dimensioni maggiormente al centro della valutazione. Sebbene dagli anni '90 abbiano prevalso gli approcci che analizzano gli edifici perlopiù da un punto di vista tecnico, energetico e di comfort ambientale, la POE si occupa anche degli aspetti legati alle dimensioni sociali e psicologiche dell'abitare.
