S'exhibeix actualment en la Galeria Nacional d'Art de Washington DC. A principis del segle xv el retrat de perfil, com en les medalles antigues, era el tipus de retrat favorit, en part perquè els trets sortints podien delinear amb més precisió en una vista lateral. Així passa en aquest exemple, perquè encara que és difícil de jutjar l'expressió o l'estat d'ànim d'aquest aristòcrata desconegut, almenys es té un registre exacte de la seva aparença física. (ca)

Se exhibe actualmente en la Galería Nacional de Arte de Washington D. C. A principios del siglo XV el retrato de perfil, como en las medallas antiguas, era el tipo de retrato favorito en Italia, en parte porque los rasgos salientes podían delinearse con mayor precisión en una vista lateral. Así ocurre en este ejemplo, pues aunque es difícil de juzgar la expresión o el estado de ánimo de este aristócrata desconocido, al menos se tiene un registro exacto de su apariencia física. (es)
