- PixelFed edo Pixelfed software librean oinarritutako irudiak partekatzeko sistema federatu bat da, Activity Pub protokoloa erabiliz. - Pixelfed est un système de partage d'images sous la forme d'un logiciel libre, utilisant le protocole ActivityPub, pour se fédérer au « Fediverse », lancé à la mi-avril 2018, par un développeur canadien, Daniel Supernault. Il permet de partager des images avec Friendica, Mastodon, Nextcloud, PeerTube, Pleroma, etc.. Comme c'est un logiciel libre et à source ouvertes, il est possible d'installer sa propre instance, tout en se connectant à cette fédération du Fédiverse. Il est parfois présenté comme une alternative à Instagram (de Facebook) et sa politique de censure, dont il permet d'importer les données. Le système est développé dans le langage de script PHP et utilise le framework Laravel. Il utilise une interface utilisateur, appelée Compose UI permettant lors du chargement d'images de faire des modifications sur son aspect colorimétrique, il est également possible d'inclure les publications de PixelFed dans n'importe quelle page web, via la balise embed. Il comporte également des outils de modération et un concept appelé « stories », permettant d'échanger des histoires entre instances PixelFed ou autre instance ActivityPub supportant ce type d'activité (au sens d'ActivityPub). - Pixelfed is a free and open-source image sharing social network service. It is decentralized, therefore user data is not stored on a central server, unlike other platforms. Pixelfed uses the ActivityPub protocol which allows users to interact with other social networks within the protocol, such as Mastodon, PeerTube, and Friendica. Using this protocol makes Pixelfed a part of the Fediverse. The network is made up of several independent sites that communicate with one another, which is roughly comparable to e-mail providers. The parties involved do not all have to be registered with the same provider, but can still communicate with each other. Thus, users are able to sign up on any server and follow others on the other instances. Much like Mastodon, Pixelfed implements chronological timelines without content manipulation algorithms. It also aims to be privacy-focused with no third party analytics or tracking. Despite the lack of an algorithm, Pixelfed optionally organizes its media by hashtags, geo-tagging and likes based on each server. It also allows audiences to be distinguished in three ways and on a post-by-post basis: followers-only, public, and unlisted. Like several other social platforms, Pixelfed allows accounts to be locked, when followers must be pre-approved by the owner. The server that's maintained by its developer only allows users over 16 years old to use, however restrictions will vary across each instance. (en)
