- Philippe Gustave le Doulcet, comte de Pontécoulant, est un astronome français, né à Paris le 11 juin 1796, et mort à Pontécoulant le 21 juillet 1874 . Il est le fils cadet de Louis Gustave le Doulcet, comte de Pontécoulant et de Marie Anne Elisabeth Marais (vers 1765-1844) auparavant veuve du libraire Louis Laurent Edme Lejay (?-1790). Il est le frère d'Adolphe le Doulcet, vicomte, puis comte et marquis de Pontécoulant. Il est le neveu du maréchal de Grouchy. (fr)

- Philippe Gustave Doulcet, Comte de Pontécoulant (1795–1874) was a French astronomer. He was the younger son of Louis Gustave le Doulcet, Comte de Pontécoulant and was the brother of Louis-Adolphe Pontécoulant. After 1811 he served in the army until 1849. Following his retirement he dedicated himself to the study of mathematics and astronomy. In 1829 he used the mathematical methods of Poisson and Lagrange to successfully predict the return of Halley's comet with good precision. His prediction of the perihelion passage was correct to within two days. He was a member of the French Academy of Sciences. The crater Pontécoulant on the Moon is named after him. (en)

Han var son till Louis Gustave le Doulcet de Pontécoulant. Le Doulcet, som var överste i artilleriet och pär av Frankrike, utförde ett flertal arbeten inom den matematiska astronomin, däribland undersökningar över planeternas och kometernas perturbationer och över teorin för månens rörelse.
