- كريس الغريب هي رواية تتناول مواضيع المثليين من قبل يوهان إس لي، الذي تم نشرها في سنغافورة منظمة كانون الدولية في عام 1992. كتب لي الكتاب -روايته الأولى- في أثناء تأديته للخدمة الوطنية في سنغافورة عندما كان في سن 19. حيث تم نشرها بعد عام. ويتناول الكتاب تاريخ بلوغ كريس سن الرشد، وظهوره من خلال إختباره لوفاة ابيه وحبيبه صموئيل من الأيدز.يلتقي كريس بأول عشيق له كينيث في سنغافورة، حيث سافر كينيث من إندونيسيا ليكمل دراسته؛ ويلتقي بحبيبه الثاني، جاك، في سيدني بعد سفره إلى أستراليا ليذهب إلى لندن، -مسقط رأس موريس-، بعد وفاة صموئيل ومن الجدير بالذكر أيضا توثيق كيفية تفاعل البيروقراطية العسكرية عندما يخرج جندي إلى سنغافورة. تم ترجمته الكتاب إلى الإيطالية في عام 1997 تحت عنوان «كريس الغريب». الكاتب المسرحي السنغافوري ألفيان سعدات حول الرواية إلى مسرحية نهايات سعيدة: Asia Boys Vol. 3، وقد قامت بتنظيمه شركة W!LD Rice، وهي شركة مسرح سنغافورية، في الفترة من 11 إلى 29 تموز/يوليه 2007. وقد أعيد طبعها في عام 2008. - Peculiar Chris is a novel which deals with gay themes by , published in Singapore by in 1992. Lee wrote the book, his first novel, while doing his National Service in Singapore at the age of 19. It was published a year later. The book recounts the coming of age, and coming out, of Chris through his experience with the deaths of his father and his lover Samuel, the latter from AIDS. Chris meets his first lover, Kenneth, in Singapore, where Kenneth has traveled from Indonesia to study; he meets his second lover, Jack, in Sydney after he travels to Australia to come out, and leaves for London, the birthplace of Maurice, after Samuel's death. It is also noteworthy for documenting how the military bureaucracy reacts when a soldier comes out in Singapore. The book was translated into Italian in 1997, under the shortened title of 'Chris'. Singaporean playwright Alfian Sa'at adapted the novel into the play Happy Endings: Asian Boys Vol. 3. It was staged by W!LD RICE, a Singapore theatre company, from 11 to 29 July 2007.
