- Le mouvement Pashtun Tahafuz (PTM) (en pachto : پښتون ژغورنې غورځنګ ; en français : mouvement de protection des Pachtounes) est un mouvement pakistanais de défense des droits des Pachtounes principalement actif dans la province de Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Il a été fondé en mai 2014 à Dera Ismail Khan par des étudiants et est alors connu sous le nom de mouvement Mahsud Tahafuz. Il change de nom et prend nettement de l'importance en janvier 2018, obtenant même une médiatisation internationale et est parfois qualifié de « printemps pachtoune ». Le mouvement demandait d'abord le déminage des zones concernées par le conflit du Nord-Ouest du Pakistan, dans la province de Khyber Pakhtunkhwa et surtout les régions tribales. À partir de janvier 2018, le mouvement proteste surtout pour les droits des Pachtounes et dénonce les exécutions extrajudiciaires menées par les forces de sécurités et demande la présentation des personnes disparues soupçonnées d'être détenues en secret par l'armée. - The Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM; Pashto: پښتون ژغورنې غورځنګ Paṣtūn Zhghōrənē Ghōrźang; Urdu: پشتون تحفظ موومنٹ, lit. 'Pashtun Protection Movement') is a social movement for Pashtun human rights based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, Pakistan. It was founded in May 2014 by eight students in Dera Ismail Khan. On 1 February 2018, the name of the movement was changed from "Mahsud Tahafuz Movement" ('Mahsud Protection Movement') to "Pashtun Tahafuz Movement." During PTM's public demonstrations and sit-ins since February 2018, several demands were presented to the Pakistani government and military, including punishment to the retired police officer Rao Anwar, a truth and reconciliation commission on extrajudicial killings in the country, presenting missing persons before courts, and removal of landmines from the Pashtun tribal areas. The movement is led by Manzoor Pashteen, a human rights activist from South Waziristan. Other prominent activists in it include Ali Wazir, Mohsin Dawar, Mir Kalam, Alamzaib Mahsud, Abdullah Nangyal, Fazal Khan, Gulalai Ismail, Sanna Ejaz, Wranga Loni, and the late Arman Loni, Arif Wazir, Usman Kakar, and Noor Islam Dawar. PTM claims to be an unarmed and peaceful resistance movement working within the lawful boundaries of the Constitution of Pakistan. The Pakistan Army and several journalists have claimed that the movement is trying to create discord in the country along ethnic lines, as well as following a foreign agenda. The movement has seen strong support from neighboring Afghanistan, which traditionally has an uneasy relationship with the government of Pakistan. (en)
