- Un peix pintat és aquell peix d'aquari ornamental que ha estat acolorit artificialment per a atreure els consumidors. Aquesta coloració artificial, que en anglès també es refereix com a juicing, s'aconsegueix amb diferents mètodes, com ara injectant als peixos amb una xeringa hipodèrmica un tint de color, banyant-los en una solució colorant, o bé alimentant-los amb menjar amb tint. El procés es du a terme perquè el peix tingui un color més a l'hora de ser comprat. No obstant això, la coloració no és permanent, i habitualment s'esvaeix en sis o nou mesos. (ca)

This artificial colouring, also known as juicing, is achieved by a number of methods, such as injecting the fish with a hypodermic syringe containing bright fluorescent colour dye, dipping the fish into a dye solution, or feeding the fish dyed food. This controversial process is usually done to make the fish a brighter colour and more attractive to consumers.
