- Die Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) ist eine Forschungseinheit in der Abteilung für Kinderheilkunde der University of Oxford in England. Sie arbeitet unter anderem mit dem Jenner Institute der Universität Oxford zusammen und befindet sich im (CCVTM), dem Zentrum für klinische Impfstoffforschung und Tropenmedizin des Churchill Hospital in Headington, einem Vorort von Oxford. Die Oxford Vaccine Group erforscht Impfstoffe und führt klinische Studien mit Impfstoffen für Kinder und Erwachsene durch. Die Forschungseinheit wurde 1994 gegründet, basierend auf Forschungen zu den Auswirkungen der Haemophilus influenzae b-Infektion (Hib) auf die öffentliche Gesundheit in Großbritannien und Studien zu den Auswirkungen des Hib-Impfstoffs bei britischen Kindern. Die Oxford Vaccine Group ist auf die Erforschung von Impfstoffen gegen durch Neisseria meningitidis verursachte Krankheiten spezialisiert und war an der Arbeit an dem neuen MenB-Impfstoff gegen Meningitis beteiligt, der 2013 in Europa zugelassen wurde. - The Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) is a vaccine research group within the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford. It was founded in 1994 by Professor , was initially based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, and moved in 2003 to its current location in the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine (CCVTM) at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, England. The group, led by Professor Andrew Pollard since 2001, comprises around 75 members across a number of disciplines, including consultants in paediatrics and vaccinology, clinical research fellows, research nurses, statisticians, post-doctoral laboratory scientists, research assistants and DPhil students. OVG came to public prominence in 2020 for the vaccine it created to combat COVID-19. (en)
