Bazz Owen Smaulding (September 30, 1896 – December 1, 1961) was an American Negro league pitcher in the 1920s and 1930s. A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Smaulding attended Albuquerque High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball and track. Described as an "incredible athlete", his high school football team reportedly defeated the University of New Mexico team in an exhibition in which Smaulding scored three touchdowns. Smaulding served briefly in the US Army in World War I, graduated from high school upon return, and went on to attend the University of Washington and the University of Idaho.
