- Sběrač rosný (Onymacris unguicularis) je africký pouštní brouk z čeledi potemníkovitých, z rodu . Je známý hlavně tím, že dokáže přijímat tekutiny z mlhy, která se mu usazuje na těle. Je nelétavý a endemický, vyskytuje se pouze na území Namibie, vzácně i v Angole. Má celkem dva poddruhy:
* Onymacris unguicularis schulzeae (Penrith, 1984)
* Onymacris unguicularis unguicularis (Haag-Rutenberg, 1875) (cs)
- الخنفساءالرأسية الوقوف (الاسم العلمي Onymacris unguicularis)، نوع من خنافس الضباب التي توجد في صحراء ناميب في أفريقيا الجنوبية. في صحراء ناميب، يُقبلُ ضبابٌ سميك من جهة البحر بعد الغسق ولا يتبدد إلا بعد أن تشرق الشمس. تقوم خنفساء رأسية الوقوف بلتقاط هذه الرطوبة من خلال وقوفها رأسًا على عقب على قمم كُثبان الرمل. يتكثف الضباب على الجسم الخنفساء، فَتنحدِرُ قُطيرات الماء نحو فَمِها لتؤمن لها الارتواء الضروري. - Onymacris unguicularis, the head-stander beetle, is a species of fog basking beetle that is native to the Namib Desert of southern Africa. Native to a very arid yet very foggy region, the beetle is nicknamed the "head-stander" beetle for its habit of tipping its head downward and using its legs and the rest of its body to collect water. Fog condenses on the beetle's body to form water droplets. It then directs these drops towards its mouth to hydrate. The head-stander beetle's adaptation to its extremely arid environment has inspired new technology. Kitae Pak, a student at Seoul National University of Technology, invented the Dew Bank, a water bottle that collects water from dew, similar to the beetle. (en)
