- Number the Brave je jedenáctým studiovým albem rockové skupiny Wishbone Ash. Je prvním albem v historii skupiny, které bylo nahráváno bez zakládajícího zpěváka a baskytaristy, Martina Turnera. Turner byl nahrazen Johnem Wettonem, bývalým členem skupin Family, King Crimson, Uriah Heep, UK a Asia. Na albu Number the Brave vystupuje i zpěvačka Claire Hamill, která skupinu doprovázela na turné v roce 1981. (cs)
- Number the Brave is the 11th studio album by rock band Wishbone Ash. It is the first album in the band's history recorded without founding bassist/vocalist Martin Turner. Turner was replaced (for this album only) by John Wetton, formerly of King Crimson and Uriah Heep. Also featured on Number the Brave was singer Claire Hamill as backing vocalist, who would join Wishbone Ash on the 1981 tour to promote the album. Following "Vas Dis" on Pilgrimage and "Helpless" on Just Testing, the album featured only the third cover version released by the band on a studio album, Smokey Robinson's "Get Ready", previously a hit for The Temptations. The album peaked at No. 61 in the UK Albums Chart. (en)

Een gelukkig keus was het niet; Wetton ging weer net zo snel weg, als dat hij gekomen was; hij vertrok naar supergroep Asia. Wetton droeg in andere bands waar hij deel van uitmaakte altijd behoorlijk bij in het schrijven van liedjes, doch hier is er maar een van zijn hand. Voor dit album week Wishbone Ash uit naar de Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida. Claire Hammill die meezong op dit album ging ook mee op tournee. Ten opzichte van andere albums duurde het lang voordat een Japanse compact discrelease (2002) volgde. Daarop volgden nog meer uitgaven, maar ook alleen in Japanse versie (gegevens 2011). Het album haalde in vijf weken notatie in de Engelse albumlijst een 61e plaats. (nl)
