- El Newport International Film Festival va ser un festival de cinema anual a Newport (Rhode Island), establert el 1998. El Newport Film Festival se celebrava generalment la primera setmana de juny i presentava diverses pel·lícules internacionals a diversos locals. El 1998 Christine Schomer, Nancy Donahoe i Pami Shamir van cofundar el festival. L'últim festival programat va ser del 3 al 7 de juny de 2009. La directora executiva de l'últim festival va ser Jennifer Maizel. Les projeccions, els llocs i l'itinerari de Newport del festival s'han absorbit en gran part en dos festivals: el seu successor i, en menor mesura, el preexistent . The Newport Film Festival was generally held the first week in June and featured various international films at several local cinemas. In 1998 Christine Schomer, Nancy Donahoe and Pami Shamir co-founded the festival. The last festival scheduled was June 3 to 7, 2009. The last festival's executive director was Jennifer Maizel. The festival's screenings, venues and Newport itinerary have largely been absorbed into two festivals: Its successor and to a lesser extent, the pre-existing Rhode Island International Film Festival. As with the Newport International Film Festival, both festivals offer Newport screenings at the Jane Pickens Theater, the city's only movie theater. (en)
