- Monika Griefahn (* 3. Oktober 1954 in Mülheim an der Ruhr) ist eine deutsche Politikerin (SPD) und Mitbegründerin der Umweltschutzorganisation Greenpeace Deutschland. Von 1980 bis 1990 war sie bei Greenpeace aktiv und erste Frau im Vorstand von Greenpeace International (1984–1990). Von 1990 bis 1998 war sie niedersächsische Umweltministerin und von 1998 bis 2009 Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages. Dort war sie Fachpolitikerin für Kultur und Medien sowie Auswärtige (Kultur-)Politik. Seit dem Ende ihrer politischen Karriere arbeitet Griefahn als Consultant für Cradle to Cradle und Kreislaufwirtschaft. Von 2012 bis 2018 war sie als Umweltmanagerin im Tourismus tätig. 2020 kandidierte sie als Oberbürgermeisterin ihrer Heimatstadt Mülheim an der Ruhr. (de)
