- Die Mindoro-Straße (englisch Mindoro Strait) ist eine Meeresstraße im philippinischen Archipel und verbindet das Südchinesische Meer im Nordwesten mit der Sulusee im Südosten. Im Südwesten befindet sich die Insel Busuanga, die zu den Calamian-Inseln gehört, im Nordosten Mindoro. Für Schiffe größer als die Malaccamax-Klasse, die nicht die Malakka-Straße befahren können, ist die Mindoro-Straße Teil der Route vom Indischen Ozean zum Pazifik. Im Norden der Straße befindet sich das unter Tauchern berühmte Apo-Riff und der Apo Reef Marine Natural Park. Auf diesem Riff steht ein für die Schifffahrt wichtiger Leuchtturm (Koordinaten: 12° 40′ N, 120° 25′ O). (de)

Conecta el mar de la China Meridional con el mar de Sulu y en sus aguas se encuentra el , el mayor sistema de arrecifes de coral en Filipinas. El estrecho tiene un ancho de unos 80 km aproximadamente. El estrecho de Mindoro es parte de una ruta alternativa para grandes barcos que van hacia y desde el océano Índico hasta el Pacífico. Son buques mayores que el tamaño Malaccamax y que, por tanto, no puede pasar a través del estrecho de Malaca.

- The Mindoro Strait (Tagalog: Kipot ng Mindoro) is one of the straits connecting the South China Sea with the Sulu Sea in the Philippines. It separates Mindoro Island from Busuanga Island (one of the Calamian Islands of Palawan Province). Located between the two islands is the Apo Reef, the largest coral reef system in the Philippines. The reef divides the strait into the Apo East Pass and the Apo West Pass. The Mindoro Strait is part of an alternate route for ships passing between the Indian and Pacific oceans and a common one for those exceeding the Malaccamax size and therefore being incapable of using the Strait of Malacca. Modern bathymetric soundings have shown that the centers of the Mindoro Strait and the Sibutu Passage are both deep enough that they probably existed during the last ice age, thus contradicting the favored H. Otley Beyer's theory that the first settlers of the Philippines came through land bridges around that period. If verified, the earliest people of the country would have needed boats to cross the open sea to reach the islands. (en)

- Lo stretto di Mindoro (in lingua filippina "Kipot ng Mindoro") è uno degli stretti che collegano il Mar Cinese Meridionale con il Mare di Sulu nelle Filippine. Lo stretto separa l'isola di Mindoro dall'isola di Busuanga, una delle isole dell'arcipelago delle Calamian nella Provincia di Palawan. Tra le due isole si trova la barriera corallina di Apo, il più grande sistema corallino delle Filippine. La barriera corallina divide lo stretto in due parti, Apo East Pass e Apo West Pass. Il passaggio attraverso lo stretto di Mindoro costituisce una rotta alternativa per le navi in transito tra l'Oceano Indiano e l'Oceano Pacifico ed è l'alternativa più comune per tutte le navi le cui dimensioni eccedono quelle ammesse dal Malaccamax e di conseguenza non possono transitare attraverso lo stretto di Malacca. Recenti rilevazioni batimetriche eseguite con l'ecoscandaglio hanno mostrato che la parte centrale dello stretto di Mindoro e del passaggio di Sibutu hanno una profondità sufficiente a permettere l'esistenza della via d'acqua durante l'ultima era glaciale. Questo contraddirebbe l'ipotesi avanzata da Otley Beyer che i primi insediamenti nelle Filippine siano avvenuti attraversando a piedi il ponte continentale che si sarebbe formato in quel periodo in seguito all'abbassamento del livello marino.
