- Martin Hojsík (* 20. Januar 1977 in Bratislava) ist ein slowakischer Aktivist, Umweltexperte und Politiker, der 2019 zum Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments gewählt wurde. Neben seinen Ausschussaufgaben ist Hojsík Mitglied der Intergruppe Tierschutz des Europäischen Parlaments sowie Mitglied der Fraktion Renew Europe. Außerdem ist er stellvertretender Vorsitzender der nichtparlamentarischen politischen Bewegung Progressive Slovakia und deren Experte für Umweltfragen und Nachhaltigkeit. Im Jahr 2020 erschien Hojsík in den Charts des amerikanischen politischen Meinungsmagazins Politico „20 MEPs to watch in 2020“ und in der Artikelserie Changemakers, wo er als einer der MEPs genannt wurde, als einer der wichtigsten Führer im Kampf gegen Pestizide. Er war Chief Program Officer (CPO) und Vorstandsmitglied der internationalen Wohltätigkeitsorganisation VIER PFOTEN. In der Vergangenheit arbeitete er an globalen Kampagnen für ActionAid International und Greenpeace International zur Änderung des Unternehmensverhaltens und der öffentlichen Richtlinien sowie an Kommunikationskampagnen für die nationalen Greenpeace-Büros. In addition to his committee assignments, Hojsík is a member of the European Parliament Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals and a member of the political group Renew Europe. He is also a vice chairman of the non-parliamentary political movement Progressive Slovakia and their expert on environmental issues and sustainability. In 2020, Hojsík appeared in the chart of American political opinion magazine Politico "20 MEPs to watch in 2020" and in the series of articles "Changemakers", where he was named as one of the MEPs, who will be the main leaders of positive changes in the fight against pesticides.
