- Manic Frustration is the fifth studio album by American doom metal band Trouble, released on June 16, 1992. The album marked a change in style toward a faster-paced, psychedelic sound; as opposed to the slower, doom metal style on their previous albums. It was the band's last release via the label Def American. A promotional disc was released with the songs "'Scuse Me," "The Sleeper," and "Memory's Garden" in 1992, the last song of which also had a music video. The album was reissued and remastered by Hammerheart Records in 2020. (en)

Cet album a été enregistré en Californie dans trois studios différents (Indigo Ranch studios, Studio II et Hollywood Sound) et a été produit par le groupe et Rick Rubin pour son label . Avec cet album, le groupe change de direction musical en abandonnant le doom métal de ses débuts en incluant des influences de rock psychédélique, d'acid rock, en accélérant le tempo des titres et abandonnant aussi le thème du christianisme dans les paroles de ses chansons. cet album comprend aussi deux "ballades", "Rain" et le dernier titre de l'album "Breathe" qui contient un extrait de la chanson Atlantis écrite en 1968 par le chanteur anglais Donovan. Cet album sera le dernier avec à la batterie, il sera remplacé par le batteur original pour l'album suivant. (fr)
