Their trial lasted 55 days and involved various challenges by the Nine to the legitimacy of the British judicial process. They were all acquitted of the most serious charges and the trial became the first judicial acknowledgement of behaviour motivated by racial hatred within the Metropolitan Police. (en)

Le procès intenté contre ce groupe a duré 55 jours ; les neuf militants ont contesté à cette occasion la légitimité du processus judiciaire britannique. Ils ont tous été acquittés des accusations les plus graves et le procès est devenu la première reconnaissance judiciaire d'un comportement motivé par la haine raciale au sein de la Metropolitan Police. La notoriété du mouvement des British Black Panthers (Panthères noires britanniques), mouvement de lutte contre les discriminations raciales au Royaume-Uni, impliqué dans ce procès, a atteint alors son apogée.
