- قنبلة ام28 هي قنبلة يدوية مجزأة طورها جيش الولايات المتحدة. دخلت الخدمة حوالي عام 1952 واستخدمت في القتال أثناء الحرب الكورية. قاده شكل الليمون المميز إلى لقب «قنبلة الليمون». تم تحسين التجزئة بواسطة ملف تجزئة محزّز خاص يقع على طول الجزء الداخلي من جسم القنبلة اليدوية. يتم تعزيز التفتت بواسطة ملف تجزئة مسنن يقع على طول الجزء الداخلي من جسم القنبلة. كان لهذا الملف مقطع عرضي دائري في القنبلة M26 ومقطع عرضي مربع محسّن في M26A1 والتصاميم اللاحقة. تم تخزين القنابل اليدوية داخل أنابيب شحن أسطوانية مكونة من جزأين من الألواح الليفية (حاوية M289) وتم تعبئتها 25 أو 30 في صندوق. - The M26 is a fragmentation hand grenade developed by the United States military. It entered service around 1952 and was used in combat during the Korean War. Its distinct lemon shape led it to being nicknamed the "lemon grenade" (compare the Russian F1 grenade and American Mk 2 "pineapple" grenade, with similar nicknames). Fragmentation is enhanced by a special notched fragmentation coil that lies along the inside of the grenade's body. This coil had a circular cross-section in the M26 grenade and an improved square cross-section in the M26A1 and later designs. The grenades were stored inside two-part cylindrical fiberboard shipping tubes (Container M289) and were packed 25 or 30 to a crate. (en)
- La grenade M26 est une grenade défensive à fragmentation créée et utilisée par l'armée américaine, surnommée la « grenade citron » par opposition à la « grenade ananas » (grenade Mk II). Créée au début des années 1950, elle est depuis lors utilisée par les États-Unis et plusieurs de ses alliés. Elle pèse 16 onces (454 g) et mesure 99 mm, pour un diamètre de 57 mm. Son explosif est de « composition B ». Étant une grenade à fragmentation, elle explose en envoyant des centaines d'éclats ou micro-éclats métalliques sur un diamètre de plusieurs mètres de son lieu d'explosion, ne laissant aucune chance à quiconque de rester indemne dans ce diamètre. La grenade est conçue pour blesser grièvement les personnes situées dans les 5 ou 6 mètres de son lieu d'explosion, et donc de les « mettre hors combat » par les éclats reçus sur tout le corps. Une autre caractéristique est qu'elle est « no noise, no fire, no light », c'est-à-dire qu'elle n'émet aucun bruit, aucune flamme ni aucune lumière : les futures victimes ne s'aperçoivent pas qu'il s'agit d'une grenade, et le faible temps de latence entre le dégoupillage et l'explosion (4 à 5 secondes) ne donne pas la possibilité de « relancer la grenade à l'envoyeur » ou de s'en protéger efficacement.
