- Ocenění Lucie je každoroční událost věnovaná úspěchům ve fotografování, kterou založil v roce 2003 Hossein Farmani. Lucie Awards je každoroční slavnostní ceremoniál představený Nadací Lucie ( 501 (c) 3 nezisková charitativní organizace ), která oceňuje fotografy za jejich úspěchy. Lucie spojuje fotografy z celého světa a vzdává hold svým kolegům. Poradní výbor každoročně nominuje jednotlivce za jejich fotografické příspěvky v různých kategoriích a nominace jsou oznámeny měsíc dopředu. Kromě oceňování fotografů přinášejí Lucie Awards také finalisty a vítěze soutěže ročníku Mezinárodní fotografické ceny (Lucie Foundation's sister-effort), představující více než 22 500 dolarů v peněžních cenách a čtyři různé tituly: Mezinárodní fotograf roku (profesionální fotograf), Objev roku (udělený neprofesionálovi), The Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year (udělený profesionálnímu nebo neprofesionálnímu fotografovi) a Moving Image Photographer of the Year (profesionál nebo neprofesionál). Ocenění Lucie také představuje fotografy v šesti různých kategoriích, označené jako Support Category Awards. Tyto kategorie uznávají ty, které jsou nedílnou součástí tvorby obrazu. - Los Premios Lucie son un acontecimiento anual que valora los logros realizados en fotografía, Hossein Farmani los fundó en 2003. Los Premios Lucie se otorgan en una ceremonia de gala anual para premiar a fotógrafos y sus creaciones fotográficas. Esta organizada por la Fundación Lucie que es una organización benéfica sin ánimo de lucro. A ella se traen fotógrafos invitados de todo el mundo que homenajean a sus colegas. Cada año, el Consejo Consultivo nomina fotógrafos por sus contribuciones a la fotografía a través de una variedad de categorías y una vez que los nombramientos son firmes, se anuncian meses antes de los Lucie. Además de homenajear a los fotógrafos ofrece una serie de premios anuales llamados los International Photography Awards (IPA), ofreciendo un listado de ganadores y finalistas en diferentes facetas. Los premios son de 22500 dólares en efectivo en cuatro títulos diferentes: Fotógrafo Internacional del año (se da a un profesional); Fotógrafo revelación del año (se da a un no profesional); Fotógrafo con mejor perspectiva del año (a quien se otorga puede ser profesional o no) y Fotógrafo de Imagen en Movimiento del año (profesional o no). - The Lucie Awards is an annual event honoring achievements in photography, founded in 2003 by Hossein Farmani. The Lucie Awards is an annual gala ceremony presented by the Lucie Foundation (a 501 (c)3 non-profit charitable organization), honoring photographers and their achievements. The Lucies bring together photographers from all over the world and pay tribute to their colleagues. Every year, the Advisory Board nominates individuals for their contributions to photography across a variety of categories, and once the nominations are tallied, they are pre-announced months before the Lucies. In addition to honoring photographers, the Lucie Awards also showcase the finalists and winners of the International Photography Awards (Lucie Foundation's sister-effort) annual photography competition, presenting over $22,500 in cash prizes and four distinct titles: The International Photographer of the Year (given to a professional), The Discovery of the Year (awarded to a non-professional), The Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year (awarded to either a professional or non-professional) and the Moving Image Photographer of the Year (awarded to either a professional or non-professional). The Lucie Awards also present statues to photographers in six different categories, entitled the Support Category Awards. Those categories acknowledge those integral to crafting an image. They are Book Publisher of the Year, Print Advertising Campaign of the Year, Fashion Layout of the Year, Picture Editor of the Year, Curator/Exhibition of the Year and Photography Magazine of the Year. In the week leading up to the Lucie Awards, there are exhibitions and artist talks in New York City, including the annual International Photography Awards “Best of Show”, which shows 45 winning images from each calendar year's competition, selected by a different curator each year.
