- Luboš Perek, né le 26 juillet 1919 et mort le 17 septembre 2020, est un astronome tchèque surtout connu pour son Catalogue of Galactic Planetary Nebulae co-écrit en 1967 avec Luboš Kohoutek. Il a travaillé sur la distribution de masse dans la galaxie, les étoiles à grande vitesse, les nébuleuses planétaires, la définition de l'espace extra-atmosphérique, l'orbite géostationnaire, les débris spatiaux et la gestion de l'espace extra-atmosphérique. Perek fut diplômé de l'Université Masaryk de Brno en 1946, a obtenu son doctorat en astronomie de l'Université Charles de Prague en 1956 et a obtenu son doctorat en sciences en astronomie en 1961. Il a publié 44 articles sur la dynamique stellaire et les nébuleuses planétaires et 80 articles sur l'orbite géostationnaire, la définition de l'espace extra-atmosphérique, les débris spatiaux et la protection de l'environnement spatial. - Luboš Perek (26 July 1919 – 17 September 2020) was a Czech astronomer best known for his Catalogue of Galactic Planetary Nebulae co-written in 1967 with Luboš Kohoutek. He worked on the distribution of mass in the galaxy, high-velocity stars, planetary nebulae, definition of outer space, geostationary orbit, space debris, and management of outer space. Perek graduated from Masaryk University, Brno, in 1946, earned his PhD in Astronomy from Charles University, Prague, in 1956, and earned his DSc in Astronomy in 1961. He published 44 papers on stellar dynamics and planetary nebulae and 80 papers and articles on the geostationary orbit, definition of outer space, space debris, and protection of space environment. The asteroid 2900 Luboš Perek, discovered by his fellow astronomer Kohoutek, was named after him. The largest telescope in the Czech Republic was also named after Perek. (en)
