- The Long Term Ecological Research Network (LTER) consists of a group of over 1800 scientists and students studying ecological processes over extended temporal and spatial scales. Twenty-eight LTER sites cover a diverse set of ecosystems. It is part of the International Long Term Ecological Research Network (ILTER). The project was established in 1980 and is funded by the National Science Foundation. Data from LTER sites is publicly available in the Environmental Data Initiative repository and findable through DataONE search. (en)
- Le Réseau mondial de recherche écologique à long terme (ou Long term ecological research (LTER) network, ou LTER network pour les anglophones) est un groupe rassemblant plus de 1800 scientifiques et étudiants spécialisés dans l'étude des processus écosystémiques (à toutes les échelles spatiales et temporelles). Ce réseau est notamment justifié par l'urgence et la complexité croissante de la recherche sur les écosystèmes face aux deux grandes crises que sont la crise climatique et la crise de la biodiversité ; il réunit 26 sites LTER couvrant une large panoplie d'écosystèmes. Il exploite les infrastructures de recherche déjà installés par les pays, grâce aux nouvelles technologies de l'information et de la communication. Ces infrastructures ont déjà permis des milliers de projets de recherche. (fr)
