- La Linea A es una de las seis líneas del Subte de Buenos Aires, abierta al público el 1° de diciembre de 1913, convirtiéndose así en la primera de toda América Latina, el hemisferio sur y todos los países de habla hispana. Se extiende a lo largo de 9,7 kilómetros entre Plaza de Mayo en el barrio porteño de Monserrat y San Pedrito en el barrio porteño de Flores. Circula por debajo de la totalidad de la Avenida de Mayo y parte de la Avenida Rivadavia, siendo utilizada por alrededor de 250.000 personas al día. La estación Carabobo hizo de terminal temporaria de la línea desde 2008 hasta el viernes 27 de septiembre de 2013, ya que se encontraban en construcción dos estaciones más que extenderían el recorrido de la línea hacia el oeste: San José de Flores y San Pedrito.La línea mantuvo hasta el viernes 11 de enero de 2013, sus antiguos coches La Brugeoise, de origen belga, construidos por La Brugeoise et Nivelles, durante la década de 1910. El miércoles 6 de marzo de 2013, el servicio se reanudó, con la puesta en funcionamiento de los coches de origen chino, fabricados por la compañía CNR Corporation y adquiridos por el gobierno nacional. - Line A is the oldest line of the Buenos Aires Underground. Opened to the public on 1 December 1913, it was the first underground line in South America, the Southern Hemisphere and the Spanish-speaking world. It made Buenos Aires the 13th city in the world to have an underground transport service. The line stretches 9.8 km from Plaza de Mayo and San Pedrito and runs under the full length of the Avenida de Mayo and part of the Avenida Rivadavia, and is used by 258,000 people per day. On the first day of public service (18 December 1913), it carried 220,000 passengers. Line A used the cars used at its inauguration for just under a century. These cars were built by Belgian company La Brugeoise starting in 1913 and were refurbished in 1927 when their wooden structure was modified for underground-only use. A peculiarity of the original "pantograph" cars on the "underground tramway" was that until 1926 they had both low doors at the ends for boarding from the street and high doors in the middle for loading from platforms in the tunnel. For this reason, Line A might also be considered the continent's first "light rail subway". The old wooden cars were removed in 2013, and replaced by modern cars. The line has been extended twice since the completion of the original line in 1914, with the most recent two-station extension of San José de Flores and San Pedrito entering service on 27 September 2013. Fu aperta al pubblico il 1º dicembre 1913, costituendo la prima metropolitana dell'America Latina, del Sud del mondo e di tutti i paesi ispanici. Si estende per 10,7 km tra le stazioni Plaza de Mayo e San Pedrito e corre sotto tutta l'Avenida de Mayo e parte della Avenida Rivadavia. Le discussioni sulla necessità di costruire un sistema di trasporto sotterraneo risalgono alla fine del XIX secolo. Le prime proposte risalgono al 1886 quando si iniziò a parlare di un "tram sotterraneo" tra la Estación Central del Ferrocarril e Plaza Once. Została otwarta dla podróżnych w dniu 1 grudnia 1913 roku, stając się pierwszym odcinkiem metra w Ameryce Łacińskiej, na półkuli południowej i Hispanoameryce. Rozciąga się na długości 10,7 km od Plaza de Mayo do Carabobo i przebiega pod całą częścią i . Dziennie korzysta z niej około 307 000 osób (2009). Obecnie linia kończy się na stacji Carabobo. Dwie stacje na zachód od niej są w budowie. Są to San José de Flores i San Pedrito, która będzie stacją końcową. Na linii w dalszym ciągu kursują historyczne pociągi La Brugeoise zbudowane w 1910.
