L'esmenta Aristòtil, que diu que Licimni treballava millor llegint que escoltant. També l'esmena Queremó. Entre els seus poemes una pregària per la salut, conservada per Sext Empíric, que podria ser un error d'adjudicació i correspondria a un poema d'. - Likymnios von Chios war ein antiker griechischer Sophist aus der Stadt Chios. Dionysios von Halikarnassos zählt ihn zu den Schülern des Sophisten Gorgias. Nach Aristoteles verfasste er eine Schrift über Kunst der Rhetorik. Vermutlich beschäftigte er sich auch mit der grammatischen Klassifizierung von Worten (onomáton diaíresis). (de)

Aristotle mentions him in his "Rhetoric", saying that Likymnios' works were as good in written form as spoken or better. He is also mentioned by Chaeremon of Alexandria. One of his poems, a prayer for health, was preserved by Sextus Empiricus, although the attribution is uncertain and it might be by another poet. Partii says that he wrote a poem about the conquest of Sardis and Eustathius of Epiphania mentions him in a poem as Λικύμνιον Βουπραδιέα ἀοιδόν. (en)
