Gaudí de gran reputació com a instrumentista i deixà les següents composicions: Psalteriumm Cardinum for 3 voices and an Organ or Theorbo (1657), i Cheerful Airs and Ballads , per una veu i cor a tres parts (1660). També hi ha obres seves a Select airs and dialogues, Musical Companion de Playfard i altres antologies de l'època. Finalment, les biblioteques de Londres contenen manuscrits de Wilson. (ca)
- John Wilson (5. dubna 1595, , Kent – 22. února 1674) byl anglický hudební skladatel, loutnista a zpěvák. Narodil se na rohu Abbey Street a Church Street ve Favershamu v hrabství Kent. V roce 1614 odešel do Londýna, kde působil na královském dvoře a v divadlech (mohl účinkovat v Shakespeareových hrách v divadle Globe – někteří autoři se domnívají, že hrál roli Baltazara v komedii Mnoho povyku pro nic; byl autorem řady písní ve Shakespearových hrách; je znám jako autor kavalírských písní). Roku 1623 nastoupil po (jehož hudební styl ho pravděpodobně ovlivnil) jako hlavní komponista hudebního souboru King's Men, v souboru King's Musick v roce 1635 pak jako loutnista, v tomtéž roce následoval královský dvůr Karla II. do exilu během občanské války. V roce 1644 získal titul D.Mus (Doctor of music – doktor hudby) na Oxfordské univerzitě a v letech 1656–1661 se zde stal profesorem hudby. Předcházející období let 1646–1656 byl ve službách Sira Williama Sarsdena ve farnosti Churchill, Oxfordshire. Po restauraci Stuartovců v roce 1660 spojil v roce 1662 své působení s Chapel royal. Zemřel 22. února roku 1674 ve Westminsteru. (cs)
- John Wilson (5 April 1595 – 22 February 1674) was an English composer, lutenist and teacher. Born in Faversham, Kent, he moved to London by 1614, where he succeeded Robert Johnson as principal composer for the King's Men, and entered the King's Musick in 1635 as a lutenist. He received the degree of D.Mus from Oxford in 1644, and he was Heather Professor of Music there from 1656 to 1661. Following the Restoration, he joined the Chapel Royal in 1662. He died at Westminster. Wilson was part of a coterie of artists and musicians surrounding the court of Charles I that included the likes of Ben Jonson, Inigo Jones, Anthony van Dyck, Henry Lawes and Giovanni Coprario. Following the execution of the King in 1649 he showed his clearly Royalist sympathies in his Psalterium Carolinum, a versification of the Eikon Basilike by Thomas Stanley, with a dedicatory poem by Henry Lawes, published in 1657.
