- Ishkhanik (Georgian: იშხანიკი) ruler of Hereti between 943–951. He was the son and successor of Adarnase Patrikios, ruled together with his mother Queen regnant Dinar, sister of Grand Magister Gurgen IV, Prince of Klarjeti (c. 918–941). Under Ishkhanik's reign Hereti was forced to recognize the supremacy of the stronger neighbour, Principality of Daylam, ruled by the Sallarid dynasty (Iranian Azerbaijan). According to The Georgian Chronicles Queen Dinar, along with her son Ishkhanik converted Hereti to the Eastern Orthodox confession and abandoned the Oriental Orthodox confession in the 10th century. In 950, he took advantage of the bitter power struggle in the Sallarid state, and ceased to pay tribute effectively restoring his independence. Ishkhanik recovered his authority over several fortresses in Kakheti, the latter was weakened after the devastating Sajid invasion. (en)
- Ichkhanik Soumbatichvili (en géorgien : იშხანიკ სუმბათიშვილი ; mort en 951) est un monarque du royaume géorgien d'Héréthie du Xe siècle. Membre de la dynastie des Soumbatichvili, fondée par son père Adarnassé comme la branche aînée d'une puissante famille transcaucasienne, il succède à son père en 943 et règne conjointement avec sa mère, Dinar Bagration. C'est avec elle qu'Ichkhanik sort l'Héréthie de l'influence monophysite de l'Arménie et convertit son royaume à l'orthodoxie géorgienne. Son règne de huit ans est marqué par un rapprochement diplomatique vers la dynastie géorgienne des Bagrations et une invasion par les Salarides musulmans, qui vassalisent l'Héréthie avant sa libération vers 949. Certains voient dans Ichkhanik l'« Aboulal » qui administre la région au nom de Bagrat III de Géorgie en 1010. (fr)
