- Das International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR) Manual ist eine Anleitung für das Vorgehen bei der Suche und Rettung. Es wird von zwei UN-Sonderorganisationen, der International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) und der International Maritime Organization (IMO) gemeinsam herausgegeben. Das IAMSAR Manual enthält Richtlinien für das Vorgehen bei Suche und Rettung, sowohl für die Luftfahrt als auch für die Seefahrt. Die Implementierung eines gemeinsamen Manuals soll eine reibungslose Zusammenarbeit der beiden Bereiche sicherstellen. Das ist notwendig, da bei sehr vielen Schiffsunfällen und vielen Flugunfällen sowohl Schiffe als auch Luftfahrzeuge an den Such- und Rettungseinsätzen beteiligt sind. Das IAMSAR Manual besteht aus drei Bänden, die als Loseblattsammlung herausgegeben werden. Der erste Band, „Organization and Management“, behandelt globale, nationale und regionale SAR-Konzepte und die nachbarstaatliche Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ziel, effektive und ökonomische SAR-Systeme zu schaffen. Er richtet sich vornehmlich an die zuständigen staatlichen Stellen. Der zweite Band, „Mission Co-ordination“, gibt Unterstützung bei der Planung und Durchführung von SAR-Einsätzen und -Übungen. Zielgruppe sind Organisationen des Katastrophenschutzes und die nationalen MRCC. Band Drei, „Mobile Facilities“, muss von allen Fahrzeugen, die Suche- oder Rettungsaufgaben übernehmen können, an Bord mitgeführt werden. Das schließt alle Handelsschiffe ein, da diese im Notfall in der Lage sein müssen, SAR-Operationen durchzuführen und als On-Scene Coordinator zu koordinieren. - The International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR) Manual is a manual for organization and operation of maritime and aviation search and rescue. The IAMSAR Handbook is jointly published by two UN agencies:
* International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
* International Maritime Organization (IMO) It contains guidelines for Search and Rescue in terms of shipping and aviation. The purpose of a common manual is to ensure that cooperation between the two areas of operation is effective and that operational cooperation can be carried out in actual rescue operations between different organizational and rescue units. It is important to ensure smooth cooperation between the two areas because many ship and aircraft accidents involve both ships and aircraft in the search and rescue operations. The IAMSAR Manual consists of three volumes, which are published as a loose-leaf collection.
* Volume I. Organization and Management
* Volume II. Mission Co-ordination
* Volume III. Mobile Facilities Volume I, "Organization and Management", deals with the meaning of international, regional and national Search and Rescue activities and intergovernmental cooperation in order to achieve well-functioning and cost-effective SAR work. This volume is aimed primarily at the relevant government agencies. Volume II, "Mission Co-ordination", provides guidelines for the planning and implementation of rescue operations and exercises. Volume II is to be carried on board rescue units and all other aircraft and ships that have the capacity, and in some cases, an obligation, to participate in Search and Rescue work The target groups are rescue organizations and the national rescue centers (JRCC, MRCC, and ARCC). Volume III, "Mobile Facilities" ,must be carried on board by all vehicles that can undertake search or rescue tasks. This includes all merchant ships, as in an emergency they must be able to perform SAR operations and coordinate as on-scene commander. Volume III describes in detail communication, organization and search methodology on site. It also contains guidelines for SAR aspects regarding evacuation of your own craft in an emergency. Future additions being considered include enhanced man overboard (MOB) technologies, including SAR operation software for ECDIS and SAR drones. (en)
- Het Handboek voor de Internationale Luchtvaart en Maritieme Opsporing en Redding (International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue Manual, IAMSAR) is een handboek waarin de organisatie en operatie beschreven staat voor opsporing en redding (search-and-rescue, SAR) voor de lucht- en scheepvaart. Het is een gezamenlijk werk van de Internationale Burgerluchtvaartorganisatie (ICAO) en de Internationale Maritieme Organisatie (IMO). De basis van het handboek is het ICAO-verdrag, het SAR-verdrag, SOLAS en het VN-zeerechtverdrag. Het bestaat uit drie delen waarbij het eerste deel zich richt op het management van nationale en regionale SAR-organsaties en de samenwerking daartussen om een wereldwijde dekking te leveren. Het tweede deel richt zich op het personeel dat betrokken is bij de planning en coördinatie van SAR-operaties en -oefeningen. Deel drie bevat methodes voor noodberichten, voorbereiding, checklijsten, zoekpatronen, assistentie, communicatie, redding en training. Daarmee dient het voor zowel reddingseenheden, vliegtuigen en schepen betrokken bij de opsporing en redding, als de vliegtuigen en schepen in nood. Het IAMSAR verving in 1998 enerzijds het ICAO Search and Rescue Manual en anderzijds het IMO Merchant Ship Search and Rescue Manual (MERSAR) uit 1971 en het IMO Search and Rescue Manual (IMOSAR) uit 1978. MERSAR was vergelijkbaar met het huidige deel III van IAMSAR en IMOSAR met deel I. (nl)

* Internationella sjöfartsorganisationen, International Maritime Organization (IMO), Organisation maritime internationale (OMI) Den innehåller riktlinjer för Search and Rescue i vad avser sjöfart och luftfart. Avsikten med en gemensam handbok är att säkerställa att samarbete sker mellan de båda verksamhetsområdena och att operativt samarbete kan genomföras vid faktiska räddningsoperationer mellan olika organisatoriska och räddningsenheter. IAMSAR-handboken består av tre band:
