- Indočínit nebo indočinit je označení pro tektity, které, jak již název napovídá, se nacházejí na Indočínském poloostrově, v Austrálii a na tichomořských ostrovech Mikronésie na východě a na jihu. Odhaduje se, že tyto tektity jsou 700 000 let staré. Zpravidla se vyskytují velikostně cca do 200 g. Větší a těžší exempláře jsou počítány pouze na stovky kusů. Největší indočínity jsou typu Muong-Long (nepravidelné vrstvené tektity), tyto mívají ojediněle hmotnost až 3 kg. Indočínity jsou výrazně tmavě černé na rozdíl od evropských vltavínů, které jsou zelené. (cs)

Auf der Erde existieren vier größere Streufelder, auf denen Tektite gefunden werden: Das größte, das australasiatische Feld, umfasst Australien, die Philippinen, Indonesien und Teile von Indochina und China. Die im Gebiet von Indochina (Vietnam, Kambodscha, Laos) gefundenen Tektite werden als Indochinite bezeichnet. Der zugehörige Meteorit schlug vor ungefähr 790.000 Jahren vermutlich im Bolaven-Plateau in Laos ein und hinterließ einen von vulkanischen Basaltablagerungen überdeckten Einschlagkrater. Die derzeit häufig – oft fälschlicherweise als Meteorite – angebotenen Indochinite werden überwiegend in der thailändischen Provinz Khon Kaen nordöstlich von Bangkok gefunden. Charakteristisch bei den Indochiniten aus Thailand sind die dunkle Farbe sowie die tiefen Schmelzlöcher und Gruben, ähnlich den Regmaglypten, die an Eisenmeteoriten auftreten. Vom Gesteinstyp her ähneln sie dem irdischen Obsidian, sind aber sehr silikatreich und nahezu wasserfrei. Indochinites are distinctly dark black in contrast to the green of European moldavite tektites. It is estimated that these bodies of solidified magma are 700,000 years old. Indochinite tektites, as the name suggests, are found in the Indochinese peninsula, from Australia and the Pacific islands of Micronesia in the east and south, to China and Indonesia in the north and west.
