- Indian Summers is a British drama television series that began airing on Channel 4 on 15 February 2015. The show details the events of summers spent at Simla, in the foothills of the Himalayas, by a group of the British governing and trading community at the time of the British Raj. The first series is set in 1932. It was broadcast in several countries subsequently. The show was renewed for a second and final series on 1 March 2015. The second and final series is set in 1935 and began airing on 13 March 2016. Although initially planned by producers for five series, on 25 April 2016 it was announced that the show would not be renewed for a third series due to poor ratings and strong competition in its timeslot. Bien qu'en cours de scénarisation, la série n'est pas renouvelée pour des saisons supplémentaires. Indian Summers a été annulée en avril par Channel 4, en raison de mauvaises audiences. L'histoire, qui devait s'étaler sur cinq saisons, s'arrête donc brutalement, à la fin de la seconde... Indian Summers a été imaginé sur cinq saisons, soit une cinquantaine d’épisodes pour relater la naissance de l’Inde moderne. Mais, entre le coût de production (la série aurait coûté 14 millions de livres) et une audience qui n’est pas au rendez-vous, Channel 4 a décidé de ne pas poursuivre au-delà de la saison 2. En France, la série est diffusée sur Arte à partir du 29 septembre 2016. La première saison de la série est rediffusée à partir du samedi 26 janvier 2019 sur France Ô et la deuxième saison inédite, non diffusée par Arte, est diffusée sur France Ô depuis le samedi 2 mars 2019.
