- Ildefons Puigdengolas i Ponce de León, nascut a Girona el 1876 i mort a Seseña (província de Toledo) en 1936, fou un militar català, que es va destacar per la seva participació en la Guerra Civil Espanyola, durant la qual es va mantenir lleial a la República, combatent en les files de l'Exèrcit Popular Republicà. Igualment, havia participat en la guerra de Cuba i en la guerra del Marroc. (ca)

- Colonel Ildefonso Puigdendolas Ponce de Leon (1876, in Girona – 1936, near Illescas) was a Spanish military officer who served the Republic during the Spanish Civil War. In 1931 he was colonel of Infantry in Seville as inspector of the security corps. In 1934 he was appointed to Malaga. In July 1936 he defeated the rebels forces at Alcala de Henares and Guadalajara. After that, he commanded the Loyalist militia at the Battle of Badajoz in 1936. After the battle of Badajoz he escaped to Portugal and returned to the zone controlled by the Spanish Republican Army. During the battle of Seseña Puigdendolas was killed by his own men when trying to prevent desertion. (en)

Con el grado de coronel, tuvo una participación relevante en la Guerra Civil Española, al frente de fuerzas del Ejército Popular de la República, con las que aseguró Alcalá de Henares y Guadalajara para el bando gubernamental. Su acción más destacada fue la defensa de la ciudad de Badajoz frente a las tropas mandadas por el teniente coronel Yagüe, la primera capital de provincia que cayó por asalto en manos de las fuerzas sublevadas contra el gobierno del Frente Popular.
