- Héctor Elpidio Acosta Restituyo, better known as Héctor Acosta "El Torito" (Héctor Acosta "The Little Bull") or simply Héctor Acosta, is a Dominican performer of Merengue and Bachata music. Acosta was the lead singer for the Dominican band (The Bull Band). Following his departure from the band, he released his debut album Sigo Siendo Yo (I Continue Being Me) in 2006. Its lead single "Me Voy" ("I'm Going") was written by Anthony Santos and it peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. In 2008, Acosta released his second album Mitad/Mitad (Half/Half) and it features a cover of Jorge Celedón's song "Sin Perdón" which became a number one hit on the Tropical Songs chart. In the same year, Acosta and Celedón performed a duet titled "Me Vió Llorar" ("Saw Me Weep") which also reached number one on the Tropical Songs chart. The album was certified gold by the RIAA for shipping 30,000 copies in the US. His next albums Simplemente El Torito (Simply The Little Bull) (2009) and Obligame (Obligate Me) (2010) were also certified gold for shipping 50,000 and 30,000 copies respectively. Obligame received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. In 2012, he released his fifth studio album Con el Corazon Abierto (With an Open Heart) and its lead single "Tu Veneno" ("Your Venom") became his third number-one single on the Tropical Songs chart. - Héctor Elpidio Acosta Restituyo (Bonao, 23 de mayo de 1967) es un cantante de merengue, bolero, bachata y político dominicano. Conocido por haber sido el líder vocalista de la popular agrupación dominicana de merengue de los 90, Los Toros Band. Desde entonces es conocido por su apodo El Torito. Acosta se separó de la agrupación lanzándose como solista en una traumática transición y afianzándose como uno de los artistas más populares de la República Dominicana. En su carrera como solista ha cantado a dúo con cantantes internacionales como Alejandro Fernández, Anthony "Romeo" Santos, Don Omar, Jorge Celedón, entre otros. Entre los éxitos de Acosta se encuentran «Lo que tiene ella», «Me voy», «Perdóname la vida», «Mi niña», «Primavera azul», «Me duele la cabeza», entre otros. Acosta es considerado uno de los artistas más completos de su país, ya que puede pasar de un merengue, bachata, merengue típico y hasta bolero con gran facilidad y sin perder calidad vocal. Acosta ha realizado exitosas presentaciones en lugares como el Shea Stadium, Teatro United Palace, Center Park entre otros. Sus canciones «Sin perdón» y «Con qué ojos» han figurado en la lista del Hot Latin Songs de Billboard y ha llevado su música gran parte de Latinoamérica, Estados Unidos y Europa, específicamente España, Suiza e Italia.
