- Hongshanornithidae es una familia de aves basales ornituromorfas del Cretácico inferior de China. La familia incluye a los géneros (el género tipo) y , de la formación Yixian, en Mongolia Interior y la provincia de Liaoning, respectivamente, y posiblemente Parahongshanornis de la de la provincia de Liaoning (aunque la posición de este último no ha sido examinada en ningún análisis cladístico). Es definida como el clado que incluye al último ancestro común de Hongshanornis longicresta y Longicrusavis houi y todos sus descendientes. Los hongshanornítidos era pequeños, aproximadamente del tamaño de los mosqueros modernos. Sus patas eran proporcionalmente largas en comparación a sus alas, sugiriendo que eran aves acuáticas vadeadoras. Probablemente carecían de pico, teniendo dientes en sus mandíbulas. (es)

- De Hongshanornithidae zijn een groep uitgestorven basale vogels die behoren tot de Ornithurae. In 2010 benoemden , en ter gelegenheid van de benoeming van Longicrusavis een klade, monofyletische afstammingsgroep, Hongshanornithidae. Uit een exacte kladistische analyse had namelijk tot resultaat gehad dat hun nieuwe soort een aparte aftakking vormde samen met Hongshanornis. De nieuwe klade werd gedefinieerd als: de geroep bestaande uit de laatste gemeenschappelijke voorouder van Hongshanornis longicresta en Longicrusavis houi, en al zijn afstammelingen. In 2011 werd ook Parahongshanornis aan de groep toegewezen. De bekende hongshanornithiden hebben relatief lange poten. Misschien hadden ze een levenswijze als waadvogels, hoewel ze daarvoor wat klein zijn. Ze stammen uit het Onder-Krijt van China, uit het onderste en middelste Aptien, 125 tot 120 miljoen jaar oud.
