- Les Songlingornithidae constituent une famille éteinte d'oiseaux ornithuromorphes. La plupart des spécimens connus proviennent du Crétacé inférieur chinois, de la province du Liaoning, au nord-est du pays. Ceux-ci ont été découverts dans la formation de Jiufotang, datant du début de l'âge Aptien, il y a environ 120 millions d'années. La famille des Songlingornithidae, ou songlingornithidés en français, a été nommée pour la première fois par L. H. Hou en 1997 pour contenir le genre type . Clarke et al. - Songlingornithidae is a family of basal euornitheans from the Early Cretaceous of China. All known specimens come from the Jiufotang Formation and the Yixian Formation, dating to the early Barremian and Aptian ages, 125–120 million years ago. The family Songlingornithidae was first named by Hou in 1997 to contain the type genus, Songlingornis. Clarke et al. (2006) was the first to find a close relationship between Songlingornis and the "yanornithids". The name was originally coined to reflect a close relationship between the two supposedly similar (but poorly preserved) genera Songlingornis and Chaoyangia. However, subsequent studies found that Chaoyangia was probably not closely related to Songlingornis. Instead, Songlingornis was found to be closely related to another group which had been given the name Yanornithidae—the name Songlingornithidae, having been named first, took precedence. Some later studies have also placed the hongshanornithids in this group. At least one study has found the Late Cretaceous Mongolian avialan Hollanda to be a member of the group as well. (en)
- De Songlingornithidae zijn een groep vogels, behorend tot de Ornithuromorpha, die tijdens het vroege Krijt leefden in het gebied van het huidige China. In 1997 benoemde een "familie" Songlingornithidae om het typegenus Songlingornis een plaats te geven. De eerste definitie als een klade was door in 2012: de groep bestaande uit Songlingornis linghensis en alle soorten nauwer verwant aan Songlingornis dan aan Chaoyangia beishanensis of de huismus Passer domesticus. De Yanornithidae, de Yanornithiformes sensu Martyniuk en de Yixianornithidae zijn vermoedelijk jongere synoniemen. Mogelijke songlingornithiden zijn Yanornis, Yixianornis, Piscivoravis en Hollanda.
