  • Railway electricity for country towns – The Railway Commissioners have informed the Lithgow Council that by November, 1923, they expect to be in a position to supply Lithgow with all the electricity that is required, both for power and lighting purposes, at a very reasonable figure. The supply will come from the big electric generating station foreshadowed some months ago which it is proposed to install at the State coal mine and which will be of such dimensions that the current will be available for towns farther west, including Bathurst and Orange. The installation will be a very powerful one. The scheme is contingent on financial provision being made on the Estimates for 1921–22. (en)
